Madaboutgreys Photoshoots

with Liz Coleman

Whether you’re interested in an outdoor shoot or a studio one, the process involved is much the same. Learn about the steps involved here, along with the range of products and artwork available.

  • What happens now?

    You’ve booked a Madaboutgreys shoot. What’s next?

  • Getting to Know You

We’ll have a pre-shoot telephone chat to talk about what you have in mind for the shoot, what your dog(s) are like, and whether studio or location would work best. We’ll discuss studio backgrounds, or locations if we are shooting outdoors, and agree dates and timings. Once all the details are sorted I’ll send you a photoshoot plan and confirmation and we move on to…

  • The Photoshoot

At this point, the creative process begins. Whether it’s a studio session or one on location, my aim is to ensure that your dog is relaxed and comfortable, and to create a pleasant experience for you both.

Then, with your dog chilled, the technical aspects all gripped (of course), and the planets aligned, the moments unfold and the Madaboutgreys magic happens!

But the Madaboutgreys magic doesn’t end there. After your shoot, I’ll be carefully working on your images, retouching and polishing to create something truly special.

  • The Big Reveal!

You will receive a private viewing gallery with fully processed images from which you can pick your favourites and order your chosen products or artwork . I’ll be on hand to help with any questions and to go through final designs with you before…

  • Delivery!!

Your images are passed to my professional printing partners in the the UK or Europe, where fine art prints, albums or stunning wall art are produced to my exacting standards. Then they are packed with great care and delivered to your door for you to…

Treasure and enjoy, now and for many years hence

  • I'm based in Richmond in west London and cover a large area including London, Surrey, Sussex, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Hampshire, Kent, Essex and Sussex.

Travel is included to locations within a 20 mile radius of Richmond, but I'm happy to travel further afield with just a modest charge for additional mileage.

  • I offer both - the choice is yours.

My studio style is elegant and classic, perfect for creating a stunning piece of artwork for your walls.

Outdoor shoots can take place at a favourite park or local beauty spot, they're more informal: a chance to get some great action shots or relaxed images of your pet in the best of the natural light.

Let's chat if you can't decide.

  • I've got this! Difficult dogs are my forte. I always give nervous dogs bags of time to settle. I work with rescue animals and understand that they sometimes have special needs and need sensitive handling. And I love canine hooligans.

I have photographed many hundreds of dogs professionally and have worked with all sorts of personalities.  I'm confident we can work together to get some great images of your pet.

  • Of course!  I’ve been hooked on photographing cats ever since I did a series of cat assignments for a major publisher a few years back.

I adore photographing horses, and if you have access to an indoor school or similar and your horse is reasonably chilled I can offer studio style equine photography as an alternative to lifestyle images.

I've also photographed reptiles,  rabbits, and rare breed sheep for clients.  I love doing interesting commissions for unusual pets - just ask.

  • No problem!  We can do the entire shoot on lead and I can work some editing magic afterwards.

  • I offer a wide range of premium products including canvases, acrylic mounts, framed prints and photo books.

Professionally produced artwork starts at £230. You can see some of the options below.

Photographic prints are available from £30. I also offer digital images (suitable for printing up to about A4 size) for £30 each.

And I offer a few special deals on product bundles at a big discount from normal prices.

Just ask for a full price list when you book your shoot.

  • Absolutely! the photographs of us with our precious pets become even more important with the passing years.  Doesn't matter if you are camera shy - just trust me!

  • I offer a limited number of pet photoshoots each month and the slots typically book up fast.

But I understand that life sometimes throws a curve ball. If your dog is ill and has limited time left, or if you have a tiny puppy that is growing fast,  I'll do my best to fit you in quickly.

  • Unsettled weather can actually produce some fabulous backdrops for outdoor shoots.  But I always book you a reserve slot for outdoor shoots, just in case the weather is plain awful! Drenched is not a good look for dogs or people and nobody wants to travel home with the smell of wet dog!

  • I'll process your images carefully to give them the classic Madaboutgreys ”look” and make them shine. I then upload your proofs to a private viewing gallery.  From here you can make your choices about prints and other products.

I’m always happy to chat at this stage, for example if you are having difficulty deciding or want advice on which finishes would look best with a particular image.

I was very nervous to see the final photos and to see if Jessica had captured what I wanted and I quickly realised there was no need to be nervous. Coupled with a brew, we sat down and watched the slideshow, and instantly it brought tears to my eyes.
