Liz Coleman is an award-winning Richmond-based dog photographer. She works from her West London studio and out on location in London, Surrey and the South East, offering photoshoots for dogs, cats, horses and all kinds of pets. She adopted her first rescue dog, a retired racing greyhound, nearly twenty years ago: the same dog changed her life and set her on the path to professional dog photography. Her photographic style is classic, timeless and fine-art influenced, focused on capturing in her images the very essence of her canine and equine subjects and the bond they share with their human companions.

About

Liz Coleman,
Madaboutgreys Photography

Why "Madaboutgreys"?

It all started with a greyhound, over a decade ago. I walked into a local greyhound rescue with the vague thought of volunteering in my spare time.  It was an afternoon that changed my life! I began taking photographs for the rescue and soon adopted my own greyhound, Jasmine, who became my muse and inspiration. One of my photographs of her won a place in the prestigious Dog Photographer of the Year competition. Suddenly everyone wanted me to photograph their dogs... And that was how Madaboutgreys Photography began.

Though I specialise in sighthound and greyhound photography, I love photographing all breeds of dogs, as well as cats, horses, and pets of all sorts.

I offer photoshoots at my studio in Richmond, West London, or out on location in the beautiful local countryside.

I share my life with resident Madaboutgreys hounds: Lindy, a gentle lurcher who has the wisdom of an old soul, and Polly, a loopy but lovely saluki cross. Lindy and Polly both feature in loads of my photographs.

We have fostered many rescued sighthounds in need and I support several sighthound charities through pro bono photographic work.

Van Gogh once wrote “That which is done with love is well done”. This is where my heart lies, photographing these precious creatures who give us so much and enrich our lives immeasurably. I hope that love shines through in my photographic work; I believe it is the source of the Madaboutgreys magic.
